The 9th Doctor is WAY more important than Kratos. He brought back the Doctor Who franchise into modern pop culture, spread it to other countries and started off NuWho.

I imagine not every year will have an important character
I would also say homer would beat picard, picard is loved by nerds, but when the simpsons was in its prime it was this massive cultural thing

I disagree, some years have many people others have zero
there is also the fact which version of a character you do
a character from a manga that was alright, might blow up a decade later in a anime
but popularity is difference from importance.
